Lowering 63

My gal has a really good stance to her. She sits in a position that makes you think she just rolled out from the factory. And yes, the front springs and rear leaf springs are in really good shape, not worn out at all and she behaves like a new car over bumps (well a new 63 car).

Well shes to high for me, and i really want to lower her 3" or more.

I read some old threads from 2005 about it but i feel i need some more up to date tips and hints about it. Where to get stuff and such. Wich is best, blocks or complete new leaf springs thats lower?

The back end is higher than the front so i dont think i will lower the front. But in case if i want to, how do i proceed? Heating/cutting or new springs?

But the back is more important now.

Re: Lowering 63

I believe it's either Eaton that will sell shorter or custom height coil springs. If leaving the leaf springs on you could have them de-arched. Heck if I still had mine you could have them, they were like straight out, no arch to be seen! LOL

I spent years and still battling the rear sag and everyone else is trying to get lower. lol I always did have to be different I think!

Or possibley there's a shop around you that can cut the springs. I know many do it themselves without any problems.

Others that have actually done this will probably chime in when they see the post.
