Im not 100% sure but I had a 66 vert with Mustang 17" wheels. I looked like 1.5" in the front and nothing needed on the rear.

Just for ****s and giggles I lined up my 18" black bullit wheels on my 64 Galaxie... SWEET!

Re: 18" wheels

The offset is listed there!
It says typically zero offset.

Re: 18" wheels

I have no clue on offset. Everything I've ever ordered was based on back spacing. I run 8" wide in the rear with 4.25" back spacing. Front I am running 7" wheel with 4.75" back spacing on the hard top and 7" wheel with 4.25 back spacing on the vert. In all actuallity the wheel size doesn't matter since the tire gets smaller as the rim gets larger so you are esentially running the same or close to the same overall heighth. My vert sits a little higher than the hardtop so I didn't need as much back spacing on it. With a 2" drop on all four corners the car sits low and you have to worry about the tire contacting the fender lip when you turn sharp and or hit a bump while turning.

Just my 2 cents worth of experience and isn't much, I'll give you better advice after the Obama administration has stimulated me to 2.02 cents worth of knowledge.

Re: 18" wheels

Did anyone come up with conclusive statistics on the Galaxie backspacing issue. I am considering Boss 338's for my 60 Starliner. Here is a list of possible sizes. I am hoping for 20's in back and 18's in front. With and backspacing are the unknown variables. Any ideas?

BOSS Wheels - BOSS 338

On your Starliner you can run 20x8 1/2" in rear with 4 1/2" backspacing. If you dump car in back or run airbags it will hit on the top of wheel well when you lower car. A 4 1/4" backspacing will give you a smaller wheel lip but center the wheel a little more when lowered.

In the front you can run 18x8 with 4 1/2" backspacing with no problems. I would go 245/45/18 on the front tires.
