1962 galaxie 500 neutral/reverse switch.

Hello guys back here looking for parts. Any one have a safety neutral/ reverse switch or know where i can get one for my 1962 galaxie 500? thanks.

As for the NS switch, if they don't have them at Napa have you checked Dearborn Classics or Macs? There is also this place.

If you have the fordomatic 2 spd then the part # is C1AA-7A427-A ,and if it"s a cruise-o then it's C1AA-7A247-B. They have been on ebay for around $15 to 35$. It is the same switch for the 61 or 62 galaxies. Or cheaper still, just pull the old wires from the switch and the car will still start, although now it will start in any gear, so be aware of that.

I have tried to repair my old switch, but the problem is that the groove that the little ball bearing goes thru gets worn over the years with all the starts. Then it has a hard time to complete the electrical circuit and this is why often you have to wiggle the shifter arm back and forth to get the car to start.

I had mine bypassed on my car. You can jump the two wires that are red with blue stripe. I got lucky and my parts car had a good one.

yea i have it that way right now while i fix the carburator...i just bypassed the wires. im gonna check ebay now.....thanks
