insearch of another part. power steering braket.

ok my power steering pump is on and working just that it wobbles alot.. seems another bracket should hold it to the engine. anyone have a diagram or the bracket, or know where i can get it?

Re: 1962 galaxie 500 neutral/reverse switch.

I don't know if '62 is the same as a '64 or not. This is what my bracket looks like and it bolts to the front of the pump. Yours might be the other style that has the bracket on the back maybe? I'm not familiar with the other but here's a pic of what mine looks like.

mine is just like that ...hmm strange so it doesn't take a rear bracket? mine seems to wobble a bit when running. and i was under the impression that another rear bracket was needed

Re: 1962 galaxie 500 neutral/reverse switch.

Oops! put that in the wrong thread didn't I!! LOL

Never had anything else hooked to mine. There is a bolt sticking out the back but seems like at some point when I asked about it that it had something to do with it might of been in an AC car.

Mine doesn't wobble, do you think you might have the bolt too tight or does it appear to wobble because the pulley is bent or something?

That is one of the few remaining pieces that still has most all of it's paint. It was done a few years ago and now the water pump is peeling cause I must not of got it clean enough when I replace it and the fuel pump is all peeling from too many gas spills on it and time. But it was nice to start with. Well to me anyway.

My valve covers, Generator, radiator and the power steering are about the only things that are pretty much still in good condition. Oh and the froggie fan guard.

I still have miles to go on a lot of other things though, just happened that I changed engines before I got far on anything else.

Re: insearch of another part. power steering braket.

Check you pulley to make sure it is not bent. Remove belt and look at it, Try another belt. Maybe it has a bad spot. I have seen it. Mine does not wobble.

Re: insearch of another part. power steering braket.

My 62 only has the one bracket. The bolts that hold it to the water pump have big, thick washers on them. They would add some stability. The parts car 62 has another bracket behind it that is part of the A/C setup.
