Seat belt question.

well i was digging out my seats to clean out the carpet and to check for floor pan rust, i did notice seatbelt for 2 people in the rear seat but none for the front seat. Is this correct? or does it have seatbelts? if so maybe they were removed, but i see no place to anchor them to. Any pics or ideas?

Re: Seat belt question.

The front seat belts bolt down to plates that are welded to the floor. All of the 62s came with these plates. Cars that didn't have seat belts had rubber plugs in the holes. You may have to crawl under the car to see what I am talking about. If your car has the rear belts, it probably had the front ones. You might pull up the carpet to see them.

Re: Seat belt question.

i have it up on ramps and will check kit out, the strangest thing is its the original carpet and i do not see any bolt holes, or indications of pierceings on the carpet for bolts.

Just like he said. I have a '63 and found the mounting holes right there for the fronts.

Re: Seat belt question.

ok after being under the car for about 1 hr i see the holes are plugged with what looks like rubber or sealer. Strange that the back has seatbelts and the fron has none. i inspected the carpet and its intact so no holes are pierced through.. So next in y list will be a set of front seatbelts i guess..
