Now you have my attention! That seems like a lot for that car. I am saving the pics for reference. The frame is a from a G code, but the actual car is not.

Maybe it's just me, but why are there rusted bolts on the new aluminum intake manifold? I mean, after going to all the expense of buying a 390 "crate motor" (there is such a thng?) and a new intake, why in the world would you put back on the old bolts? This raises the hair on the back of my neck, not to mention bringing into quesiton the attention to detail on the rest of his project.

Even I couldn't use the old bolts being cheap with a nice shiney new intake on there. Odd that they didn't replace them. Don't think that was just a mock up? Of course don't need bolts for that either. Maybe he ran out of cash after the engine.

Re: More in AL

There is rust on the block and heads and he says it has roller rockers, but they are not installed. This sounds like a different definition of "crate engine". Maybe he found a pile of parts dumped in a crate behind a machine shop, or garage, and said, "Wow! It looks like a found a crate engine."

Re: More in AL

I would imagine "crate motor" means bought at an auto parts store. Which means it is a rebuilt stock engine.

Re: More in AL

Luckily the rest of know that a parts store long block is not a "crate engine".
