I wouldn't rate that opinion very highly. I've painted plenty of cars over the last 20 years using acrylics, enamals and 2 packs. I wouldn't consider 1 gallon 'overkill' at all. the galaxie I'm painting now used more then that.

I think the car looks fantastic considering the money spent - well done!

Sometimes I think opinions are better kept to yourself!

Re: My cars at paint!

2 quarts of paint plus one quart of reducer-plus one pint of hardener--
makes a gallon less one pint--

that is more than enough to paint a galaxie -- acrylic enamel--

one tack coat -one fill coat and one flow coat --

I'm with Gary on this -if he charged you by the materials -you got screwed--

i have a question -I'm not knocking your car looks good -- but the hood -- does it fit bad -or is it the camera--

as far as Garys opinion -- we all know hes not right in the head -- but his opinion counts --

Re: My cars at paint!

Hood not closed. Paint job cost 100 in materials and 1 set of used tires and wheels from my Bronco. Paint also covered inside of trunk and under hood all jamb. Is some left in can but I dont care. Tires and wheels came on Bronco that I did not use and were probably worth 300 dollars. $00 dollars to paint my car. I think that is a smoking deal. I didnt even have to breath the fumes. Gary when you are ready to paint my other two project cars for less than 500 each then come on out. I will even give you room and board.

You all did read 100 for materials, Correct?

Re: My cars at paint!

one tack coat, one fill coat , one flow coat???!!!

Obviously painting standards are VERY different in our two Countries. You wouldn't get away with that Downunder!

I suppose you are not talking show quality. It's what we'd call a 'bog and flog job'. Not the sort paint you'd put on a car you're going to keep.

gbic1 i thought you got a great and the car looks superb!

Re: My cars at paint!

Not a bad deal to me when compared to taking it to a fancy shop somewhere especially!
I'm to "new paint" phoebic so as long as my original stuff stays half decent I'm happy. It is full of imperfections but I know it's gonna stay stuck on there for another 20 yrs vs new paint that I just don't trust to do the same, even if Gary did it! That's just how I am. lol

I won't be around to worry about the paint that's on there now in 20 yrs probably. Or I'll be blind as a bat and can't see it anyway!

Gary, I'd prefer a cocktail weenie filled pinata with a kiddie pool full of bbq sauce below it!

Re: My cars at paint!

Now you have to change your profile pic! I like it. It looks stealthy.
