My cars at paint!

Dropped of my Gal at the body shop today. Nervous and cant wait to get it back. It is getting a coat of satin black. Was going to paint it my self but the body shop manager ran a car through my shop door so we are trading.

Can't get any better than that as long as you come out on top. It'll look good Satin Black.

What's a decent paint job cost these days?

Re: My cars at paint!

Depends on what you want and how the car is delivered to the shop. I've done complete jobs for upwards $3000+ and as little as $500, The later, the car is delivered to me completely apart, prepped and materials purchased by the owner and that covers my labor to give it a quick check, wipe, tack and spray.

Still not 100% on colour for mine yet, more than likely going to be Apollo Blue, was a early 70's Ford colour here.
And black in the engine bay.
Going with 2pac in the bay and Acrylic for the car.
David.

Re: My cars at paint!

The bigger issue with a paint job is what's under the current paint. Consider the unfortunate story about a guy bringing his new (to him) 65 Corvette in to get "a couple cracks" fixed. Check out the project:

Brand-X-Customs

The cost was a bit beyond what he was expecting.

That's not to say a bodyshop will need to completely gut your car. But if you're unsure what's underneath, you might be in for a surprise.
