pipes mufflers -and a stroke of luck

i was pokeing around on ebay looking at mufflers -- found an add for 61 galaxie mufflers -but the address was right here in my home town -- -i eamiled him about mufflers for my 66 galaxie -- -he emailed back -come on over and ill make them for ya - 45 dollars a piece--

so this morn over i go- he has a muffler and pipe factory -way out in the woods - real nice operation -about 10 guys working --

for you old car guys -he makes and supplys to the wholesalers--
he can make any model or year any manufacture- factory orig -- piupes and mufflers-

i bought a set for my car-- fit was perfict--

last week i was at oriellys looking for the H pipe - they looked in all their books and could not find one -- when i picked up my mufflers i as this guy about a H pipe -- he had 2 all made up and wanted to know how many more i needed--

i need a couple pipes from the manifolds down for a 289 64 galaxie..

hmmm... wonder if he could help me out

and he has a warehouse full of orig pipes and mufflers -

BTW -- i believe that engine had a h pipe -it didn't have 2 separate pipes -- it had a crossover

i dont think even the parts stores know its there--

what a differance in the sound of the engine-- got rid of those glass packs and that dam rappy sound -- now its a deep rumble sounds like a real V8 --

I really miss my quiet! When I first had new exhaust and mufflers put on I was wondering if it was a good idea. With glass packs almost under my seat to real mufflers I could hear the engine rattle til the oil got pumped up. lol

Now with the bananism I'm back to loud and obnoxious with a hole also that I found right at the turn under the car from trhe Exhaust manifold. Burned out donut gaskets etc. I wonder how I'll feel with quiet again this time?!

Although I do like the sound when coasting down a hill.

Speaking of sounds and V8s, I was next to a ricer the other day and it had bubble pipes instead of fart pipes. With the big tips on it it sounded just like bubbles popping. lol

bubbles popping ??- what next ???
