HiPerformer 390 crate engines

I searched the Forums and came up blank on this company. $1429 seems like a good price for a long block. It sure seems like the fast and easy way to go, top it off with an Edelbrock performance package and install. Machine shops here in Kalifornia can get pretty expensive with all of the laws they have to comply with.

Any experience or opinions?

seems like a great price. Close to stock but nice price! I just hate other people putting my motors together. I couldnt bite the bullet!

They listed a Spokane, Washington address on their website.

I'm also interested in that long block from Hiperformer. The company that rebuilds them is called S & S Engine Remanufacturing.

Anybody else know anything about them?

Re: HiPerformer 390 crate engines

I don't know about those guys, but the last engine I bought came from a company in Houston, Texas. Replacement Engines - Rebuilt Crate Engines. I ordered a Chevy 383 Stroker from them several years ago and couldn't have been happier with it. Looks like they have a stock replacement 390 for $1200 ($400) core and a high performance version for $2200. Might at least call them and a few others to get a pricing competition going, might save you a few bucks.
