62 brake booster

My brake booster went out on my 62 ford XL with a 406 yet the power brake system is an add on since the 406 did not come with power brakes.So I went to my local Napa store and ordered a booster for a 62 they had them avail.so when I got it and took my old one off it was a different push rod than the new one, it is one with a linkage?So I took them back to napa and when The guy looked at mine he called the Power brake company in Miami and a very knowlegable guy said mine was from a 64 t-bird.and the replacement one would be over 500.00.. YIKES!All I can figure is the 62 with a 4 speed was not even available with power brakes.The guy said he would rebuild mine for 125.00, alot better.Does anyone know the facts on this? The 62 one I orderded had a long staight rod and the 64 has a 2 in. rod connected to a pivot linkage with a flat bar that goes to the brake pedal arm.Any help appreciated.

Nevermind guys. I found out from Greg Donahue.He said the 62 did come with power brakes and a 4 speed with 390 0r 352 but not 406,yet they are not so availble at parts places.They have a cast Iron canister.Thanks
