In addition, to really get it right, you need a leak down tester. A certain amount of leakage is normal/with in spec. But none of that matters if the rings are stuck.

Just picked up on this post - hope I'm not too late.....you'll want to remove the valve covers and look for bent or damaged pushrods. Most likely the valves are stuck on the cylinders with no compression. Take the rocker assemblies off, remove the pushrods. Check them for straightness. Tap on each valve with a hammer. You know it when one sticks. It won't pop back up or it's stuck down already. You can spray those valves down with penetrating oil and keep working the stuck valves with the hammer. They may or may not come loose. Worked for me - $42 in pushrods later and my 390 purred like a kitten.....

Well heres an update. I just bought new wires for ir because last night I went out and started it and started pullin wires. I pulled wire 1 and not difference in sound no fire either. wire 2- rpms went up wire 3- rpm went up plug 4-no difference plug 5 I dont think much of a difference plug 6 rpms went up plug 7- stumbled plug 8 stumble. This is what happened when I pulled the wires off the plug. I changed the wires and it runs better but still when I pulled the wires off the same thing is going on. Now I have some people saying it might be 180 out but hows that possisble when the when the anvaced would keep it from being placed in wrong. Could the distributer be bad?
