OH now THAT sucks! Rich loves to give stuff to people, so don't harbor any ill feelings, chalk it up to simple human error.

do you have a two speed wiper motor??
do you have the washer switch that hooks to the side of the wiper switch--

Re: Snail mail? Parts question 65 two wiper switch and harness
your very first thread on this wiper switch really bugged me to no end - heres what you posted--
what I'm trying to do is hook up a one speed switch to a two speed wiper motor, and no dont tell me it cant be done or just go find the matching part or what other, i have rewired this whole car from scratch so i know what can and cannot be done-
so that being said --ill tell you --you cant hook a one speed switch to a two speed motor and make it work-
you insult the guys here that have been working on these old cars for years - they know the parts and how the parts work.. these folks will bend over backwards to help you fix your car--
parts come hard -- they are not to be destroyed trying to cobble some back yard fix .
i dont have a harness but i do have a 66 wiper switch --we need to find out if they are the same part number-- if its the same for both years ill send it to you --
if you have a 2 speed motor already in the car the harness should be there -- its a 7 wire harness-- theres 7 wires on the wiper switch -and a seperate 2 wires for the washer motor and pump--.
- guys -would one of you look in your books and see if these switches interchange-- thanks

Re: Snail mail? Parts question 65 two wiper switch and harness
Electrically speaking, a one speed switch CAN work a two speed motor. But only on or off, and only one speed, such as high or low, unless it's a 2 hot wire 3 brush electrical motor, if so, only one speed is attainable with the single speed switch, and neither will be the faster speed which requires the activation of 3 brushes.
