All Ford Day in Danvtown
Hi All, Just thought I'd do a follow-up post for our Ford Day in Western Australia. As stated in a previous post we were hoping to get a heap of galaxies down there to out do those Eastern staters. Well, sadly we fell well short - 7 in total.
It was a good day still for Danv and myself. Danv finally got his 63 427 out of the shed and I managed to finally finish my 71 and get that there too. So, all up Danv had his 70 and the 63, and I had my 71 and 63 (more than half the galaxies just between the two of us). I managed to pick up a trophy for Top Galaxie and another for Top 10 Peoples Choice. I think Danv had a bit of a hand in the Top Galaxie Award (thanks Dan it looks great sitting above my T.V.). Sadly 64GD made an appearance without his 64 (lucky for me I think), but itwas still good to see him there!
Anyway heres a couple of pics

Re: All Ford Day in Danvtown
I'm surprised no-one commented on the ultra rare '400 4V'?

Re: All Ford Day in Danvtown
didnt even look at the engine pic till you mentioned it...
I assume thats a cut/pasted(literally) decal on a weiand/edelbrock/whatever manifold- but just gotta ask the stupid question: did Australia actually get 4 barrel 400s?
my old 71 was a torque monster for a 2v low compression motor(guess a 4" stroke will do that), and a buddy had one in a 76-ish F150 he put edelbrock/holley on- it ran pretty good for a smog motor too...did the Aussie 400s get the unleaded/low compression we did here in the states? I always thought the 400 only was made in the US, along with the block sharing talldeck 351M...

Simon, I was in the middle of typing a reply about it last night, but decided not to give the game away.
But I also did notice the wrong wingnut on the aircleaner!

The 400 was the standard engine in the '71 4 door Galaxies here that Ford sold. They were all 2 barrel, low comp. No unleaded here back then.
All Galaxies were imported into Australia.
