Re: Since the weather is getting colder, how are the projects going?
I have been out of work all this year so spending on my cars has really been limited but I have been selling off a lot of the junk I have collected just to be able to do some things to the cars. My goals for this winter (if you can call it winter in Texas) are to;
1. Install all the patch panels needed for my 37 ford tudor humpback sedan and get it into a rolling chassis state and then try to sell it.
2. Install the required patch panels on my 38 ford tudor sedan and get the body work completed for it and install drive train. (460 -C-6, 9")
3. Get my last Starliner finished. For this I need to get the work above done and sold to have the money to spend on this car.
However, there is a chance I will get an opportunity to go back to Egypt to do some consultant work? If that happens then none of the above will get done.

Re: Since the weather is getting colder, how are the projects going?
Hi guys I am working on a 1963.5 galaxie i bought last spring. So far i have the folowing done or in the works, installed windshield, rebuilt front end with new springs and heavy duty swaybar, rebuilt power steering, new shocks all around, rear swaybar, b&m floor shifter, reworked steering column, griffin raditator, new headlights with relays and new wiring, rebuilt heater box,tci street fighter trans with 2400 rpm b&m coverter, building eng to 432 stroker, lunati cam and lifters, edelbrock intake accel dist, repo factor 427 shorty headers. I bought the car for the stright body and paint work, the upolstery was also done before i bought it. My goals for this winter are to finish the eng and installed, replace rear end, has 3.0 open original in it now,get ehaust system installed. then go crazy for a couple of months trying to work all of the bugs out of everything i have done. I retired a year ago and this has been a project to keep me from going crazy, have a 1948 chevy pick up street rod also but i finished it last year. I bought a 1963.5 r code new and it was the best car i ever had, i sold it in 1965 and have missed it ever since, This build will not be an r code, but it will be close enough for an old guy Ha HA. A mans home is his castle but his shop is his santuary. Bob

All I got left to do is adjust the doors or the weatherstripping on the Falcon to prevent interior moisture, then make my door panels...

Re: Since the weather is getting colder, how are the projects going?
Just about done with mine. Pulled a bunch of accessories and replaced/painted them. Fired her up this weekend and it sounded pretty good though I didn't put it in gear. Just a little more bolt tightening and it should be good enoughh to drive all Winter.
Well maybe the heater is not working all that well. I'll just drive it on the warm days.

Re: Since the weather is getting colder, how are the projects going?
It is almost time to put the car away for the winter. It has been rainy here for most of October, certainly more than typical and very apparent after a record hot and sunny September. I hope to order new fabric from SMS for the front buckets soon and if I can find a good upholstery shop in the area I can pull the seats put and have them done over the winter. I don't have a heated garage of my own, so getting into a friend's shop is the only way i'd be able to do any real work on it over the winter.
I do have some projects I'd like to tackle on the snowmobile before it gets too cold and/or the riding season starts. There was a tiny coolant leak last winter, a new exhaust system end the end of the season and some chassis mods. The coolant leak and exhaust install has to be done, the chassis stuff would be nice, but is more for fun than necessary.

Re: Since the weather is getting colder, how are the projects going?
For my car, I am looking for a 460/e40d combo. Fuel injected. That's the winter project. Doubt I'll have time though. I have 3 race cars to rebuild before the season starts again in January. Might have to ship this job out to a friend. doh!
And HID headlights. I think I can handle that one, time wise though.

Re: Since the weather is getting colder, how are the projects going?
Sounds like everyone has their projects and not enough time or money. I would love to get my car mocked up this Fall/Winter to get ready for paint. It is a long trip and I seem to be walking most of the way.

Re: Since the weather is getting colder, how are the projects going?
Close to being done with the Galaxie; for now. Decided to change my stock A/C compressor to a Sanden 508 so new hoses are being made as I type. Will probably take car to the Cherokee NC Rod Run this weekend and then finish A/C next week. Then, going to start on the 47 stakebed which will be my winter project.
