Help With 66 Galaxie Transmission ID!

I posted this in the C4 transmission forum but want to see if any Galaxie pros might be able to help me out also. I have a 66 Galaxie with a 289, all original, and am trying to determine what transmission it has. I crawled around underneath and the pan is pretty much perfectly square with 11 bolts. Has no bulges, turns, indentations in the pan from what I see, exactly square. On the left/driver side right above where shift linkage goes into the case I saw a C5 AP 7006 C. Or the last 2 digits could have been a B and a 0. But I'm pretty sure the first series is right, it was tough to see and in a bad spot, had to scrape away the crud. So again, looked like C5 AP 7006 C to me, or ending C could have been a zero. There was also a circle with a 29 in it and another circle with a 65 in it. I tried to measure the case length as best I can from where bellhousing/tranny case started to where it connected to the extension piece before tail, I measured about 10 7/8ths inches. The transmission appeared to be aluminum to me but I'm not sure, should have put a magnet to it. I know this probably won't help, but the tail had RF-C6DP-7A040-A stamped in it. Again, 289 motor, all original. Filler tube went into the side of the pan on passenger / right side. Can anyone help me out?

Is the bellhousing and the rest of it all one piece or is the bellhousing seperate and bolted to the tranny.

Here's a place you can use the pan shape to ID it.

Re: Help With 66 Galaxie Transmission ID!

All - Bellhousing and transmission separate pieces, are bolted together. So early C4 then? Has a separate bellhousing, transmission, then a short spacer piece, then the tail piece, all bolted together. Thanks for all the help - much appreciated!!
