Need to convert my 67 Galaxie to a C6. Please help! Thanks!

I need to convert my 67 over to a C6 Transmission – the Ford-o-matic 3 speed that came with the car, was in bad shape with the internal hard parts, and the case was damaged, and the costs to rebuild the transmission were going to be very, very high.

I had a big-block C6 built instead, which is done, and now I need to find all the correct shifter/kickdown linkages for a column shift car.

Has anyone ever done this conversion or have any ideas where I can get all the shifer linkages for this conversion? Is there anything I need to know on the cross-member side (modifications, mounts, etc?) What about cooler lines?


Any help or advice on what to get would be greatly apprecaited. I'd love to get this car done over the winter so I can drive next summer!

Again, this is to convert a 67 Galaxie Convertible, with a 390 and a Column shift Ford-O-Matic 3-speed over to a C6.

Ken Floyd of Kens Auto Service in Sumter, SC [(803)469-2323] did the exact swap for one of our local club members. I know because I gave the owner of the car (a 67 Convertible) the C-6 out of a parts car I owned. They did have a couple of issues which I am sure Ken can explain. Let me know if I can be of further help.

Not a problem since you're doing a factory swap. Just find a 66 and up full-size FLM that came with a C6. All the parts you need right there. I've done the to 66 and up cars several times, almost strictly bolt in.
