vinyl top

Can anyone tell me how to properly care for a new vinyl top. Just had one put on my 63 . I want to keep it looking nice for a long time. I keep the car outdoors, but under a cover to protect it from the sun.

What should I use to clean it?
Also, is there a wax or protectant I should put on it to keep it looking good?

Best thing you can do is not have it parked outdoors! Sun is the #1 killer.

I'd stay away from the cheap stuff like armor-all. Mequires makes a good vinyl protectant in their "medallion" series. Most autobody/paint supply stores should carry it. Just keep the vinyl from drying out is the main thing - and keep it clean, dirt/dust will draw the oils out of the vinyl faster.

There is a protectant called "303" that has a lot of UV inhibitor in it and is pretty good!! It is 5 times better than Armorol or any of the other dash board protectants.

Most marinas and boating supply houses carry it.
