my car is up for sale
I now have other more important priorities. I'm not sure what else I can do. First things first, my car has to go. Anybody want to buy it?

Easy now! First of all, is the car paid for?
If it is, don't sell it unless you have to. Find someplace to store it and let it sit.
I don't ever remember hearing someone say "Wow am I glad I got rid of that car 5 years ago."
If it's paid for and just sitting it won't cost you a penny. I've been there, I let mine sit for 6 years while I was doing the wife, house, baby and start a company thing.
Unless you need some sort of lump cash now, you have a job(2 if I remember right), put the car on hold for a while.

Don't do anything you'll regret Rod. What jimmy66 said is right. You will be sorry later to get rid of that beauty. If you can keep it, don't get rid of it. Cars are in your blood.

Good advice from the board. Lost my job and after 4 months put the PhatFalcon up for sale. Luckily no takers, but looking back now with new job, I would have never been able to replace what I had and it wouldn't have really made a difference. Keep it!!

Listen to these guys. First real cars are kinda like a first kiss, girlfriend, first anything! I have heard so many guys get misty eyed when talking about their first car, how the wish they could find it or had saved for their kid. It will take a lot of self control to not spend money on it, or watch as it gets a little "ratty" cause you can't or don't have time to wash it twice a day any more. But, if you can deal with it, try to keep it. They ain't making them any more and anything you buy to replace it will be somebody elses idea of what the car should be, not yours...then you have to start all over again. Oh, just so you really understand, no matter what you think its worth, expect to get - at best - no more that half of that.

Don't sell it dude. Just don't drive it much and it won't cost you much. Park it and let the tags expire if you have to, but don't sell. Like most of the guys here have said, the "first car" is very valuable when it comes to memories. If you sell it you will lose a piece of yourself you'll NEVER be able to get back.
Tough it out man. Nobody knows what the future holds. A good job with benefits(family insurance!!!) could be right around the corner waiting on you. Keep your mind on your priorities and you'll be fine. A car is not and should not be the #1 priority in life. But they do rank way up there for most of us on this forum, myself included! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Good luck.

my car is up for sale
Hey Rod,
True story …. My old man was a Chebby guy, but not any ‘ol Chebby…. At 20 he had a ’68 comaro SS … and ended up selling it to pick up a ’56 vett … for $900 bucks , as the story is told. He kept it around for a few years, took it to the track ( San Jose Speed Way) and lit up the tires for a little with the lil 327 and was stylin. Then 2 things happened … 1 the block cracked( typical Chebby ), which my grandfather found who was Ford man through and through and the previous owner of my 65 mustang. Second … Low and behold my sister came along, don’t know how the heck that happened but it did. So, in my dads wisdom he unloaded the vette .. for a whopping $800 bucks to pick up some sort of a Chebby station wagon, the minivan of the early 70’s. To this date, some 36 years later, he kicks himself for that. ----- believe me … listen to the guys here .. If push comes to shove you have no choice … Well that is how the ball bounces. Wait.. let’s poke a little more fun at my dad … and his situation. 1) My sister is grown, married and in another state & does not speak to him 2) Parents are divorced 3) that car is worth ohh 30-50K now maybe more. 4) This is the worst .. I as the oldest didn’t get to drive and wreck it.. was an ’83 Camaro instead.

my car is up for sale
Good news, I have decided not to sell that piece of crap. I just parked it, and I am bumming a ride from my parents now. I'm trying to save as much money as possible. I am also planning on moving to Farmington, NM. So I am just saving as much money as I can, while spending as little as I can.
