Help me decide.....to buy, or not to buy
My 94 F100 is going to turn 200,000 in a couple days.
I"m getting kinda scared/paranoid about trailering my stang 'out of state' with it anymore.
Got a chance to buy a 97 F150 for about 9 grand.........Momma's gonna chit.........dunno..............
(can't get squat for trade on the 94...too many miles).........

Well, I would say the old Ford has served its master well, and I dought it would let you down in your time of need, but on the other he may need to put on light duty and kept close to home to serve an even greater purpose, makeing sure the new guy last`s for 200,000.

I wouldnt do it. You'd be hard pressed to get any of the engines in a 97 to tow as nice as that inline six you have. Add the fact that those engines will last 400k plus, and I have no doubt you're the kinda of guy that does regular maint. on your vehicles. If you have an automatic, I'd get ready for a rebuild if ya havent done so already, if its a manual, it'll outlast that engine. Also I think the bodystyle you have is a much better looking truck then the 97. If I were in your position, I'd just put a few dollars into the 94.

Help me decide.....to buy, or not to buy
That's the problem. I've got/replaced almost everything that it needs, lately.
(*i.e. new brakes/tires/fuel tanks/pumps/tune/trans flush/,). It's just the mileage that scares me.
It handles well, gets great mileage, doesn't leak/burn any oil, but I"m still getting paranoid. Especially with the Iowa trip around the corner in 3 weeks.
Plus it'd be kinda neat to have a truck with a/c..........
I know momma will flip when she hears about it, so maybe it's just a pipe dream.
Plus I"d rather put money into the stang, (whetherit needs it or not), then jump into oweing money on a driver again.......I just dunno.............

Help me decide.....to buy, or not to buy
The truck won't be coming into the dealership until tuesday. 56,000 miles on it, 5.4 w/auto. Green. Auto. Haven't even seen it yet, but I drive ALL those pickups every day, (working on 'em).
Yes, the brakes do leave a bit to be desired.
If I do get it, I"d drop it like I did my 94, put HEAVY DUTY sway bars front and rear, and bigger tires, (besides cooler exhaust, etc, etc).
I still don't know, tho. My 94's getting pretty rusty too............

I can't argue with that logic. Yes, the old 94's been a good truck, (knock on wood).
The body's showing alot of rust, (needs new box sides), and the cab corners are going away. I was quoted 3500 to have it 'redone'. I just hate to stick that kind of money into a 200,000 mile vehicle.
I'll have to sit down and weigh the goods with the bads..........Money being the bads............
