I have owned 2 '69s a '68 a '99 and an '01. My favorite is the 69. If you want to compare models, go to http://www.Mercurycougar.net and click on the Gallery. It is sorted by years.

I'm also partial to the '69's. Very muscular and clean!

1970. They had high backs as stock seats, not low backs with headrests, better disk brakes and thicker spindles, 351C, lockable steering wheel, better styling I think. Maybe Im just partial to mine. Ive owned other cougars, but I like the 70 style better. Go to the mercnet site rktmn mentioned, great site for info.

What about the HUGE A$$ models that look like the cadillacs of old? Found out my aunts' got one of them in her back yard! I guess I will have to check what motor/trans combo its got, it does have the XR-7 badge though.
