California Special

hi all! i have seen a mustang California Special driving around here and i am wondering how special are these?? its white and black and just plain looks sweet[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_bow.gif[/img]!! but this is the first time i have seen and even heard of one(go ahead.. call me sheltered).. so.. whats the deal??[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]

They were limited edition stang coupes (hence the name) built using some Shelby parts (rear tail lamps, spoiler) plus some tape stripes as I recall. Rarer than some Mustangs, not as rare as others.

I believe around 8,000 built. There are other types of special promo like the Highland speical and the Northwest special.
