454 *CHEVY!* engine into a FOX Mustang???
351w and 67etc: you guys need to chill the f#ck out. Ask a "chevy in a Ford" question on a FORD website and you're gonna get flamed. Expect it.
The swap could be done, but it would be bitch to complete. Plus, doing that to a Mustang just isn't right man.

And you wonder why so many 'old timers', just don't come to FM much anymore.
Listening to people piss and moan and bitch and complain like this.

Does this mean it's okay if I put a Toyota r22 motor in my 65 Shelby GT 350. The fuel mileage would be really cool.

454 *CHEVY!* engine into a FOX Mustang???
wow you know all i did was ask a question. I asked this question here because this place is full of car buffs who know things i dont know... well that was the premise. Now, i see this place as a useless soap-opera where even the stolid old timers are stuck up and if someone hears an idea they dont like, they strike in anger, feeling safe behind their computer. Well this feels like religious persecution. You car people are just like high school bullies, angry and ignorant... I wonder WHY do you post here when you have nothing to contribute? All you do is KEEP THIS TOPIC THAT YOU HATE SOO MUCH UP TOP. To me that is counterproductive to your quest to bash me.
GTCOUPE yes you can put an import engine in your shelby, you WILL get more trouble-free miles out of it, but i think Carroll would like to spit on you for it. Plus, my question is about PERFORMANCE, get it? going fast? sound familliar? go away, man.
Yes its okay to do it. But its NOT okay to kill yourself, thats illegal.

ENOUGH ALREADY!!
If you want big block power in a fox here's my recipe for you (just an opinion).
Sell what you have for some cash, should get a quite a bit. go to the nearest jusk yard and pick up a good 460 block from a truck and a set of early heads (69-73 I think, search the forum, that question has been answered before). Then do some home porting on the head and have a shop freshen the valves and guides, recondition the truck rods, get appropriate pistons for CR you want. Put a Vic and 850 Holley on top and it'll slide right in with swap headers alreay available.
If its only an 1/8 mi car a well built C4 will drop in and work nicely.
The advantage to this route is its easy. The headers and engine mounting issues have already been worked out and many places offer the needed parts.
The early heads with good porting will make a healthy amount of horsepower.
I think this route would get the most horsepower per dollar, especially since time is money and this will be much quicker not having to figure any quircky mounting issues.
Now:
67, lighten up. You ask this on a Ford site expect some ribbing. I'd hate you for putting in the shibby but I'd respect the amount of work and the craftsmanship (if its good) with which you did it. Keep in mind, I'm dying to get my hands on a stingray to drop in a 351 Cleveland. That should turn some heads at the next vette show!!
351w: I'm not sure, but you sure came across as an ass. Never mind, I'm sure.

Now if everyone would have just came accross like that, there would have been no pissing matches...I prefer the arguing about the Politics talk....arguing on the tech board...sheesh...

Incidentally, I hope you go my suggested route for selfish reasons.
When the 460 in my F250 gives out I'm going to upgrade the two vehicle to a diesel and put the 460 into drag car. I need a guinea pig to keep me posted as he goes.
