Shock tower help

I need some insight I have cut the shock towers and I got the steel I need to start cutting it and fabbing it up should the plate sit in front of the cut upright of the tower or have it fit inside the cut upright and welded that way it is hard to see in the article and I am not sure what would be most effective thanks
