And you though the Texas Legislature was working on real problems

Apparently, the Houston senators that sponsored this bill didn't vacation in New Mexico. Because if they had, they might have noticed that each state has a rather distinctive license plate. Even with a blurry picture from an toll plaza camera, most would be able to tell a Texas plate from a NM, or Lousiana, OK, etc. Like you can't see the outline of the state in the middle of the plate. I see the reason behind it, I just hate it when our hot shot legislators don't think it all the way through. A new excuse to hassle people that otherwise might go unnoticed.

Guess I'll have to ditch the Mark Martin frame on the truck as I drive through TX this week. Hopefully the frame on the Mustang's will be okay, after all, its on a trailer. I've got a story about CA and trailering a car that wasn't registered! How the hell else am I supposed to get it there then officer?

My friend got pulled over by the highway patrol for speeding one night and the officer also commented on the license plate frame he had. The frame was from the dealership though. If they're going to enforce a pointless law like this and start writing tickets to people for something they have no control over to begin with then they better start messaging the dealerships to stop putting the blasted things on the vehicles. Luckily my friend only got a warning for the frame, but he still got the ticket for speeding.

They are. The dealers are pulling hundreds off and complianing to the state that they're costing them $$$$$ in advertising dollars. My son-in-law works at the local Ford dealer and they are cutting the top center out of theirs so it's not a total loss.
