The Cleve is disassembled *sigh*

The 385 stroker is disassembled and going back together. Two cam lobes gone, one on the way. Metal everywhere.

A light hone, polish the crank, pistons, all new bearings including cam bearings.

Going roller this time, hopefully it lasts more than a 1/2 mile!!

I mean c'mon its getting oil CONSTANTLY!

Oh, it WAS getting oil, just that the oil ended up mixing with a wee bit of 110 octane! When oil pressure dropped from 65 to 30 at 7000 rpms, it was already too late!!

What actually happened to cause this. Fuel pump was leaking or what?

What actually happened:

The 850 Double Pumper we had on it was using power valve plugs. The primary power valve plug gasket was leaking so that it was running rich. We knew it was rich, just didn't realize how rich. We made a pass anyway. Big mistake. Engine ran about 45 minutes TOTAL from installation to dstruction.

What cam: All my cams are now custom ground Comp Cams. The old cam was a 600 and something lift solid, the new cam is roughly .750 lift solid roller.
