Mustang is a mustang, is a mustang.
Why would you want to put a v6 in it, when V8 will fall in there so easily?
(no, I"m not flaming your choice of motors, just curious)...............
Again, the Fox chassis is the new 'belly button' car of the 90's, 20's!

Pontiac man at hart? How come you show 3 ford products on your profile? LOL As for the 87. Rust is a problem when it gets into the floor and underbody. Being in Victoria I would assume not a problem. BUT - I would go V8 not V6. One of the easiest cars to modify for handling and speed. Have fun!

If you are planning to swap to a 5.0 and T5 later, I would keep the 4 cyl in now, do your chassis and suspension modifications, and in the meantime gather parts for the V8 swap, put that drive train together, and swap the drivetrain out all at once when you are ready. Swapping to a V6 now would be counter-productive if you are just going to undo all of that work in a couple years. The 2.3 is a good motor, its just gutless in a mustang. If I were you, I would go crazy on suspension mods, then when the time comes, throw the big motor at it, and the car will already be set up for it.
Also, the 3.8L 6 is not the best of motors, power wise or mechanically, and if you are looking to get good milage, that 2.3 five speed is gonna be your best bet right now.

iv kinda been thinking of leaving the car stock, maby do something with the 4cyl to make it a little funner and save up a cuple of years and buy a 87-92 cobra. im realy liking them, my step dad bought a 92 cobra yesterday (heavely modified) and i love it. then go all out on it. the car i found isnt in the beat shape (if you whant pics leave an email addy and ill send em to ya) and its a coupe. i like the hatch back better. what do you suggest i should do???

Keep the coupe and V8 it. The coupe is about 200#'s lighter than the hatch anyway.

Your dad bought a '92 Cobra? Wow, heard they're rare....
Actually the only fox cobra was 93 only. Just a little FYI.
