Wow. I've heard of blocks "cracking right down the middle", but have never actually seen it. Holy moly. Well, he was running a supercharger on a stock bottom end, and probably beating the hell out of it, so I'm not that surprised. But sheesh.

Saw that happen to a 347 this year. The break line was straighter and the only metal left was between the rear cam bearing bore and the rear main. No, it didn't go boom. It just fell off and starting missing. They saw coolant leaking from the block in the front area, so they drove it on the trailer and took it home. What they found was very near the pics posted. And the engine didn't have that many passes on it. It was about 2 years old and had maybe a 100 passes, if that many. Stock block. Car ran 7.60's in the 1/8.

Yeah, I have seen one do that before.... That really sucks... Using a production 302 block can be like playing Russian Rullet..... [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]
