Yes!! it works!!! This is my project to be, a 1971 fastback I picked up for $600. When I got it she was running, (notice I said "was" running, bent pushrod and an electrical fire have relegated her temporarily to yard art status)and had very few options on it aside from the fold down rear seat, and an auto tranny. My plans are obviously to restomod her, after bodywork and suspension upgrades, she will lose the FMX tranny (actually love those transmissions, built like a tank, but hard to find parts for, try and price a neutral safety switch...WOW!) in favor of a built C-4, and the Cleveland 2V will say bye bye, and in it's place is going a Clevor combo (which is why I lurk and have asked so many questions regarding Clevor setups (Thanks for all the info you've posted 393Clevor!), and backing it up will be a 9 inch rear, which is already there, but sporting some better gears (ratio undecided at the current time), and all around discs to stop her. The manual drums as fun as they were, just won't cut it! Still haven't decided if I will put in the power steering I have left over from another 71 project, but I do still have my Mach 1 grill, urethane front bumper, spoilers for both ends, and full guage package, so I have a pretty good start on all my parts!
