Turkey Day.....Pizza Eve

Figures, nobody wants to get close to the kitchen with all the commotion. When I was a kid, my grandmother would raise hell if I got anywhere near it when she was trying to cook for everybody...

I know how your grandma was. I'm the cook in the family and I workin' the whole night before and all the morning of Thanksgiving. I don't want a lot of people underfoot, poking around in pans and so forth. But, I don't have to touch the dirty dishes.

Greg, this is too strange. Jennie and I were just talking about having pizza tomorrow night right after a trip to the Liquor Barn for T-Day drinks. Now does that sound like Kentucky or what?

I have had pizza with chicken on it before? Does that count? They are after all both foul.

Sounds cool to me!

I really can't rememeber why, but one year about 10 or so years ago, my second daughter and I were alone here on Thanksgiving Eve......

We went to a local Pizza Shop but we ordered Subs instead of Pizza. Well, the place was SWAMPED! Lots of people eating there and a ton of people in and out picking up carry-out.

Well, we waited and we waited......daughter started getting impatient, but I told her they were busy. Finally she went up to the counter to see waddup.

Turned out they thought our order was a carry-out and it had been sitting on top of the oven for quite some time. They apologized and said it was FREE!

It was still nice and warm, so not a bad deal!

We ahve to take the big bird over to my daughters house. That means - no leftovers . But the birds get real cheap the day after, so we're going to sock in a couple. I like it. A lot. Not that I don't have a deep seated need for pizza (being a computer guy and all) but I'm trying to stay on the Adkins thing for a while.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all! Whatever you eat.

That's bout the only reason I enjoy cooking myself, love those next day leftovers! I can see the pizza deal also, for those who aren't cooking the day before but will be in there for hours starting early in the morning, who wants to cook both days!
We just bought a turkey a couple months ago, it sounded good for a change.
