Fordmuscle.com members register to check out cars/items for other members?

Well,so far it seems like a great idea!

If we get enough members to "sign on" to this we will cover 1000's miles for our "check out" range.....

We got to wait and see what the leaders of FM say though....it would be very nice to fit this into the site somehow?

I always thought Fordmuscle.com was a step above ANY other Ford site on the net....if we can set up this idea here it will show a conection between members that few if any other websites have....

Chilly's post said a lot of things I was thinking. I would be willing to go look (not that there are many nice prospects here in the salt belt), but I am way down near the bottom of the scale on expertise here at F/M, so I wouldn't want to mislead anybody.

That being said, if you need a car looked at in Northwest Indiana / Chicago, I would love the excuse to go kick some tires! Caveat emptor.

We could also use it for parts.....

Me and Qtrmiler hooked up last year when he won a lower dash for his Stang on e bay and they seller wanted some totally crazy amount to ship it.....

The dash Qtrmiler won was only about a 10 minute drive from my house so I went and picked it up for him.....I was gonna pack/ship it to him for a normal amount but,it turned out he just came up here to get it and took one of my cars I was selling back with him.....

It can be usefull no doubt!

Tom,

Definitely add me to any database of 'car checkers' you put together. I'll send you whatever info you need when you get a better idea of how you'd like to do this. I also changed the location in my profile to Niles which is near Youngstown Oh, rather than just NE Ohio in case that helps anyone.

As to what Chilly mentioned, I think probably the best most of us can do is to give it our "best shot" as to looking over a car for a fellow member. Then if it's a high buck piece, they can decide whether it's worth a trip for them to see the car personally.

I'm definitely not a professional appraiser of anything. When I looked over Doug's Starliner, I tried to take pics of the areas I thought he'd be most interested in seeing, then sent them along with my personal impression of the car. He'd already bought her so it was a moot point, but at least he had a bit better idea of what he bought.

Jan

I would bet you get very few "NO" responses. This is the friendliest forum I've found by leaps & bounds!

This is definitely doable! Let's see what 67stang has to say about it.

I can assure you all that Darrell and/or I will check on anything here in Las Vegas ... Henderson or Boulder City ... maybe even Pahrump

I make my living by driving this town from one end to the other every day anyway

Sounds like a great plan to me

Great idea! Despite the fact that compared to most of you guys I'm out in the sticks (about 2 1/2 hrs. from Buffalo, 4 hrs. from Pittsburgh, and 5 hrs. from Carlisle, I may be of help to someone. You can count me in too.

That's an excellent idea, but I would suggest having it organized by telephone area code. There would be so many different zip codes out there in my particular area for instance. Or, do it by county.
