Can paint be matched by the VIN#?

I need some paint to go on the firewall of my truck and was wondering if the paint shop could match(not really match just mix up some paint that is close) paint with the VIN number. My firewall looks great except it has specs all over it where something splashed on it and ate the paint off.

A paint store really doesnt have a way to look up a paint code by the VIN# There is usually a door tag or on some older Fords it was stamped on a metal door tag under the VIN#.

Oh yeah you might be able to contact your local Ford dealer and they might be able to tell you from the VIN # but most of them wont take the time.
