well we got the i6 yanked from the 2door maverick no problem, got it towed to the shop but when we raised it we noticed that it looks like the car was hit hard from the back. the frame was actually cut and rewelded. so right now i'mnot to sure if i'm going to continue to want to use the 2door. however tom at us automotive told me he knew of 4-6 falcons ranging from 62-74 one was a futura even, that are for sale cheap. he tried to call the guy but he didn't answer but i'm going to call tom tomorrow and find out. i may be going to a falcon here shortly pretty cool i think.

That isn't as big a deal as you'd think. My last '71 was rear-ended twice by the time I got it. Didn't notice for 10 years both frame rails were broken. I just welded a patch over the bad spot.

its not just that the frame was cut and rewelded, i started thinking about it and i dont want to really have to spend several $$k to get a "decent" body, i kinda already went through this with my 4door. i think maybe now it is time to find a good car now that wont need as much work to it.

now i just gotta find something and hopefully kinda quick

i'm so confused on this. i see all the super nice cars in the magazines and the ones that several of you guyz have and it makes me wish i had one. I love my 4door mav, but its gonna cost so much more money to get "good" quality from it. i was hoping that the 2door was going to be cheaper, but it turns out its more of a mess. now i have a motor/tranny that need a car and i can't decide what to do. part of me thinks i could just put the 4door back together, but i am kinda tired of it.

I was searching on ebay and through the paper this afternoon and i didn't really find anything i liked. i mean i found some but i can't really swing the money for it. i was hoping to find something closer to 1000, maybe thats not possible. i really just want a STRAIGHT body and a pretty good interior. i dont care if its 5 or 6 colors even. and there is so many choices. the 302/5.0 was in so many cars from the 60's up till the 93 stangs... choices choices.

.... maybe i'll just sell the motor and forget it.

I'm with you. The minute that engine and tranny are sold the car you wanted will turn up and then you'll hate yourself. There must be a reason for the Mavericks plan to turn sour, you just have to be patient and keep your eyes open.
I hate waiting when I have a plan but has to be done sometimes.
