Demo\'s Tax Poem,relax,just a joke,I think.

In Holland (and also in Sweden, where I live now), it starts at about 33%, then the income between about $20k and $35k is about 47% and higher is 60%. That's INCOME tax alone. Then sales tax is either 7% (food and such) or 18%, fuel is about 75% tax and there's a special tax on cars of about 30% (plus the 18% regular sales tax).

As you can see, you've got nothing to complain about

Well Jeff ... based on the information I have for reference.

Queenie and I combined would fit into the top 10% of earners which pay 65% of the total income taxes collected in this country ...

We don't earn in six figures ... if that makes me/us RICH ... I guess I am.

I guess the point is when they talk about most of the tax cuts going to the RICH ... don't be thinking they are referring entirely to Bill Gates and the likes.

And keep in mind that the 50% of earners (the half with the lowest earnings) pay only 3.7% of the income taxes collected. The fact that half of the tax payers pay such a small portion of the taxes, but can still VOTE gives the Liberal Polititians potentially, free reign to "Gut the top earners alive."

As Kwookie says ... this translates to "Redistribution of the Wealth."

I'll repeat this one more time for the record ... and it's so pathetic ...

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"

When asked where this phrase came from many Americans think it is from the Constitution of some other founding doucument or famous speech of a powerful American President or the likes.

It is from the "Communist Manifesto" ...

Sometimes this sort of information gets pretty dang scarry in deed

Helmantel ...

You live in a much more "Socialist" society than I believe most Americans want ...

Who pays for your medical care? Isn't that socialized?

We do have something to fight for here on these issues ...

This is not what James Madison had in mind when he was acting as the primary "drafter" of the "American Constitution." The "Constitution" and the "Bill of Rights" were intended to protect individual rights ... not create or allow for "Governmental Control" over individuals.

If you truely believe we have nothing to "complain" about ... you miss the point of what America is ... and was meant to be.

As I sit here right now I have my loaded 44 S&W concealed on me "legally" ... granted I'm in my home at the moment, but I can go darn near anywhere in this city with it right where it is ...

Can you do that in the Netherlands?

Anyway ... individual rights is what America is about.

OK, OK ... I'm getting hammered with questions.

My local Metro Police buddy stopped by as I got home this afternoon ... said they were searching for a burglar in the neighborhood ... said he (the burglar) had kicked in two doors ...

One while the people were home ...

So I grabbed the 44 ... my point is only this... in America (or many parts of America anyway) you can "legally" carry a weapon ... even concealed (with a permit to do so)

No, I don't normally walk around "Packing Heat"

But I sure like the idea that I legally can if I feel a need
