I think it has to do with the fact that the '69 '70 dashes are more prone to crack due to the soft material they are made of ( always by the speakers) The earlier cars seemed less prone to cracking, warping yes, cracking no. I've owned 8 '67/'68 cars and all had good dashes. Consequently if most '69/'70 dashes crack there is a much greater demand for them. NOS ones are probably rare and command big $$ so repros will be higher as a result. Justdashes.com will restore your original dash but I'm not sure of the price, they will give you an estimate if you contact them and you pay for shipping to them also. Stu

I already have a dash pad cover and i don't really like it much.......but anyway if they are prone to crack is it likely mine will crack in a few years or have the repros been made better??????????

Well then flip the coin for the cover. I couldnt see spending that right now I had way too much to get done and buy also as it was stated with my cover if the dash pad is prepped properly it looks half decent I did and then I just trimmed some of the excess that the cover didnt fit over kind of like beveled it and came out all right Good Luck!

I just glued the plastic cover to ours and called it good. Works well for now. If we got serious about restoring it, maybe we'd think different.
