69 Falcon sports coupe

I ran into a guy the other day at work who has a 69 Faclon sports coupe that he wants to sell. Says its a original 27k mile car. I only got to speak to him for a minute but its a 302 car and the bodys suppose to be pretty good but he said it did have a bondo spot or two.

Whats the car worth?? I'm probably not interested but I got his # incase anyone else is. Said he figured he wanted 6k for it, but I bet he'll take less.

The car is in NW Idiana and I "might" be able to look at it this week.

It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. None of 'em are technically worth that much. Mine's a #2 with a TON of money in it and "book" value is around $5K. You don't build Falcons to sell at a profit. If it's all original and not tore up, looks good, etc - probably somewhere between $4K and $5K. Maybe. 27K miles doesn't mean much if it's been outside most of the time since 1969. It's cool, but it ain't a Mustang. People see those Mustang prices and think their trashed out LTD is suddenly worth big bucks.

You pretty much feel the way I do. I thought it was a little much myself but just thought that 1969's with only 27k don't come by everyday and some Falcon lover would be iterested in it.

I told the guy that I thought it was too much and his reply is what made me think he would come down on the price.

I may go by and look at it anyway this week, you never know till you see it. My kid is turning 18 this spring and I have been thinking about a birthday present for him.

But I also think the 3-4k range is more in line for this car unless its really nice.

Make sure the sheet metal and trim are there and in good shape. Can't buy that stuff in a catalog. About all you can buy new is carpet, rubber stuff, headliner and maybe some odds and ends. The rest will have to be reconditioned, come from another car or bought NOS. NOS is big bucks - I think an NOS 63 grill went for near $1200 on eBay recently.

What rubber can you get for these obscure 66-69 Falcons?

NOS is very hard to find and it's easier to find NOS grills and trim than it is to find weatherstripping and window seals. BTW....I have a complete set of '67 NOS grill/headlight bezels/hood trim and a set of '68-'69 NOS grill/hood trim/headlight bezels. Paid out my ass for them and I can't get myself to actually use these. It's too hard because once something is mounted, it is no longer NOS. I put a very cherry used '67 grill and headlight bezels on my '68 Falcon wagon to see what it would look like and it looks much better than the '68-'69 style. I wanted to compare so I would know which NOS set to keep. I have 2 full sets(sets of four) of NOS side reflectors(front/back), 2 pair of NOS wagon tail light assemblies, side view mirrors, etc.. I have to wait until the chassis and cage are done along with the paint job before I can put any of the NOS stuff on. I'm unable to find weather stripping though

I agree on the general consensus here. When my 45,000 mile 1960 was getting cut up to do these wicked things to it, there was a 67 coupe outside the shop with 36,000 miles on it, straight black with red perfect interior.
Still looked like a granny car and he chopped it hard with a full chassis, 466 big block, all the racing goodies and decided to sell it after it was done. Had over $80k into it and sold it 2 years later for $45,000. Most I ever heard a Falcon go for. Book was about $3500 on the original car. Mine was $2400.

Autokrafters. Most of the 66-70 weatherstrip stuff is reproduced now by Dennis Carpenter. Bought all of mine from Autokrafters except the beltline stuff, which I picked up at the Pate swap meet just because it was handy. On my 67, I put new door seals, trunk seal, belt line weatherstrip, rear window gasket. They also have the vent window rubber now. Get your wallet ready though... Yeah I'll keep that stuff in mind. I didnt think that stuff would be that hard to find.

I called about a 64 Falcon convert last week for 4K and it was gone before it barely came out in the paper. But like anything I'm sure a convert is worth more than the coupe.
