Ford treating our suppliers, badly?

Hi all- a while back we were discussing the way Ford was treating some of the hobbys parts suppliers, namely Obsolete Ford Parts in Oklahoma. I'm in a couple of other clubs and groups and several of us have written in to Ford to express our disgust at this policy. If any of you guys would like to do the same that would be great. If you want to read what's going on take a look at Obsolete's website. It's a damn shame that they're getting jerked around like this.

For anybody else that would like to comment about Fords treatment of "Ford"

aftermarket and obsolete parts suppliers here's some contact info that may help.

I don't know if it'll do any good or not, but it's worth a shot. The more the merrier.

Ironic.

Ford had to call the GT-40 just the "GT" because the current owner wanted a pirate's ransom to sell the name back.

Now they're going and screwing over Mom & Pop for helping keep their cars on the road and their brand-loyal owners happy.

It's always something with us Okies! That's a really good business with a good rep. Sucks someone is always getting jerked off like that. I love my Fords but have seen a lot of this in my 45+ years

I think Ford is just trying to protect it's name from being used by people making repro parts. The quality standards on some of these parts aren't the greatest.
Vendors could just change their name to IE; Obsolete Oval Parts. We all know it's still Ford and everyone would be happy. Just my .002

Yes, but Obsolete Ford parts was and is selling "Ford" parts too. Parts that Ford no longer wants to handle. Ironic isn't it?

I would agree except that, if the article can be believed, Ford agreed to allow thme to use the name. Unless Obsolete Ford Parts reneged in some way, Ford should live with the 1993 agreement. Just my .0002

That happened to a guy here. He had a little Volkswagen shop with the name in the title. Had it for years. Volkswagen sent a "cease and desist" letter and he had to change the name to "Vintage German Auto".

Well guys, I heard from a guy at Ford's customer relations Thursday. Called me at home to see if I had anything to add to my comments. I think we talked for about a half hour. He said he'd add a few notes and pass everything along to his supervisor. Hope it helps?? Just thought I'd update you guys.
