Gay Marriage

What's your opinion on the latest crazyness concerning gay marriages. Looks like G.W. should drop all federal funds from these states IMO.

in my opinion, who gives a ****? let them do it. i don't care. what's the big deal, it's just a piece of paper. i think the country should focus on real problems.

Thing I don't understand with all these "weddings" is since they are not legal do these people think they really are married?

Drag them out in the streets, beat them with a stick, then shoot them!
They will all burn in hell anyways.

There are three primary things that bother me about it:

1) Gay couples say they want to have the same rights as hetero couples. I've never known any hetero couples who got married 'because of the rights it afforded them'. I think this is mainly a political power play.

2) I am worried this is only a segway to try and ligitimize adoption &amp; invitro fertilization by Gay couples. But, it is already too late for that since there have been many adoptions by gay couples without the 'legal rights' of official marriage.

But;

3) The group of people that is constantly arguing "less government" &amp; "more personal freedom" without government intervention is EXACTLY the group that is aggressively trying to prevent these people from doing what they want to do! Regardless of how comical or sickening I might feel gay marriage is, I am even more sickened by the hippocracy of Ultra-Conservatives who are racing to try to prevent gay marriage and add the clause "man and a woman" where it might not have already existed. They can't have it both ways. More rights &amp; less government sounds pretty clear-cut to me.
