Newest drama in the hockey world.

I started it, so I'll add some more.
I've watched 'some' hockey. There's always fights.
One of the neater comments I've heard as of late.
"I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out".

Checking/pushing/moving stuff around/basic body moves are one thing.
I've watched this last 'incident' over and over, and it still pisses me off to no end that officials/whomever allow this to happen, and that the team owners HIRE these people to do this, knowing this could be the outcome.
Contact sport, is one thing.......still think the guy should be punished. Not to make a martyr out of him, but at least let everyone else know that this ****'s not tolerated.....
I wonder what would have happened IF the guy would've been killed, or at least turned into a parapalegic?

It's like 'oh, it's okay, he only broke his neck, and he'll make a full recovery, so that makes it less of a stink in everyone's mind.

Just doesnt sit right somehow............

"Both teams had been warned by the league about retaliation for a hit by Moore on Canucks' captain Markus Naslund on Feb. 16. Naslund sustained a concussion and missed three games."

In hockey you have your "bruisers." They are out there to look out for your wings, and center. It seems to me that Mr. Moore injured the captain...so it goes without a doubt that there are going to be consequences. Again, I have not seen it, but as of now, I feel it is acceptable.

Anyone have a link to the video??

I have no problem with fights in hockey. none whatsoever. This was not a fight. The was sneak up behind a guy and try to hurt him and hurt him badly. If he had come at the guy from the front where the guy could mount a defense, nothing would have been said. This was yellow belly as you can get. The guy whose neck was broken did not realize his attacker was there until he was ying on the ice with the broken neck. I think there is a clear distinction between this attack and most normal fights in hockey.

Did you actually see the whole game or have any knowledge of prior incidents regarding these two teams? The person who got clubbed, is no "saint".

Mmmm...I did not say that...was that directed to me?

After seeing this, AND knowing the history between these two teams, I think there is nothing wrong with what happened. Sure, nobody wants to see this type of injury, but it happens, it is part of the game. Even the guy that swong did not mean for this amount of injury. He hit the guy with his glove on for crying out loud! Fine him somewhat, suspend him for a few games, and then let him back.
