Newest drama in the hockey world.
I don't much like hockey, and never have, but on a semi related story.
Has everyone seen the latest 'crash and burn', blindside a dude did, where it broke the guys neck?
Just curious what everyone's thoughts/reactions/how he should be punished are on this?
If you didn't see it, it was friggin' brutal. (even by hockeys standards).
I think he should be banned from hockey, let alone brought up on attempted manslaughter charges..........
(but then I'm a peace freak).

He should be barred form ever playing professional hockey. He should also have malicious wounding charges filed against him. If this had happen with both of them going at it, that would have been one thing, but this was a yellow belly sneaky attack.

I agree, he should go to jail. If that happened as they were coming out of a nightclub, you can bet he would be getting hung. This isn't any different.

okay...I did not see it...based on this so far, and remember I did not see it, it's hockey. Hockey is a rough sport. If you were walking out of a night club and punched someone, you go to jail--not the case in boxing, or hockey. If you throw a baseball at someone ~80 mph and hit them you go to jail.
These are rough sports, and that is the reason people sign such huge, ridiculous contracts--because they are dangerous.
I remember in football the coaches always told us this is a sport that you can knock the **** out of someone and people stand and cheer for it. If you do it anywhere else, you go to jail.
Okay, having said that hopefully I see it and can correct, or reaffirm my position

I'm no hockey fan myself (rare for a Canadian) but the way this has been dominating the news here is on par with the coverage you'd see if the Martians had landed in Vancouver.
It's only a game, for crying out loud! Shows how little we have to talk about here!

Ok. lets simlify the argument, do you or do you not aprove of what happened to this guy ? I dont- Hockey is a tough sport because people, officials and players let it be that way for one reason or another. If the object of a sport is to get the lil' friggin thingie in the net then try REALLY hard, but i cant see what "checking" a guy has a f-cking thing to do with it..... you could hurt him. when i was a kid growing up{oakland ca.} if you had a problem with a guy you beat him up, but it didnt get confused with sports. I wonder how much more money they would want to just play the game the best they could like grownups.......HI EVERYBODY, IM AN OVERPAID SPORTS GUY AND A BIG ***** IN MY PERSONAL LIFE,GOOD THING I DONT WORK IN A STORE HUH ?
