Found a junked \'70 Boss 302 today!!

I was cruisin' a few neighborhoods today and I spotted a familiar quarter panel on a car that was sitting in someones backyard, it was a '70 Sportsroof. I got down and knocked on the door and asked if I could look at the cars ,as there was also a '70 coupe sitting in back of the sportsroof. The sportsroof was sitting in some weeds, the motor was gone as was the trans and rearend. It looked like a normal car and I was going to walk away because it was hit on the left side right on the front door pilar. I was walking away when I spotted a power steering cooler. I went back for a second look and I also noticed re-inforced shock towers. I went to the back of the car and it had the rear sway bar. I thought that was weird so I checked the VIN, and my heart almost stopped as the 5th digit of the VIN was a G, which means Boss 302. I looked back at the front of the car and it had drum brakes, on the left side. On the right side it had front disc brakes!! I found the body tag on the radiator support and the VIN matched!! I found the Shaker hood on the '70 coupe complete with the trim ring!. The owner says that he will sell the car to me as soon as he finishes taking some interior trim out of it. The N case 4.30 31 spline locker rear end is also in the coupe!!!! I want this car bad. I am going to really work on him to get it.

The car has been hit and stripped of everything that has any value Im not telling you what to do, but this sounds like a serious waste of money unless you get it for like $100 or something!
Im sure you're aware of the kind of fortune it would take to restore it.

A real Boss (or Shelby) is worth a lot these days regardless of how hopeless it looks. I keep tabs on the prices and am constantly being shocked how much people are paying for 'basket cases'.

I've seen complete basket case Bosses & Shelbys sell for more than I'll ever get for my fully restored garden-variety fastback.

I had no idea the Bosses came with 4.30 gears. Wow!

Wasn't it called the "drag pack" option that gave them the 4:30 gears? I recall it added some other things too, but don't remember what at this moment.

A dragpack Boss car is worth about 40% more restored than a garden variety...

Fortunately for the wonderful thing known as the internet, I can sell cars that are complete basket cases for decent money. I sell every '65-'70 fastback that I get my hands on. I usually start them off a $1.00 with no reserve and let the market determine the price. The Boss 302 I found is definately worth fixing and saving. You would not beleive the cars that I find just cruising around. Right next door to the Boss is a '67 Camaro, and next door to that is an A code '65 fastback. I will try to buy both of them but unfortunately alot of the owners will not sell because they have dreams of someday fixing them. Sometimes I do get lucky as today a guy called me and sold me a complete running '67 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed, with alot of extra parts for a deal. It will be on E bay tomorrow.
