another one bites the dust...

First the Thunderbird, now word is official that the Marauder is history. Ford's "official" position is that they're gonna concentrate on new car intro's. I wonder if a part of that concentration includes their decision to bring back hood ornaments on Mercurys? What's next? Contintental kits and opera windows?

In all honesty, I think Ford is behind the curve on luxury rear wheel V8 sports cars. I was on the freeway yesterday and saw a brand new Chrysler 300 with a V8 and sort of Jaguar styling and it was impressive.

The Marauder was sort of the last of the old Fox based cars like up-to-2002 Lincolns, Sables and so forth. The 4.6 mod motor Mercury luxury car I rented two years ago had a great drivetrain, but old, stodgy handling. They're clearing out the Marauder for something new and better. Ford has been killing in the truck market for 10 years though.

One just came in on trade friday at the dealership. (marauder).
Only 30 k on it. I think they said they'd sell it to me for 18 grand....................If only I had that kind of money to spend on a car I never would drive.

Do you think the marauder would pull my trailer and stang?

I have a 2004 Marauder.Stodgy handling doesnt come to mind?It doesnt come to mind when getting into the 2004 Cobra either? The reason why the Marauder is being haulted is the throttle by wire technology. The DOHC engines havent been developed for this yet.Rumor has it that she will return in the 2006 model year.
