Gas is over $2 a gallon
I never thought I would live to see the day that gas would go over 2 bucks a gallon, but today a lot of the stations are dusting off their 2's and putting them up. Amoco 93 is $2.09 in some places. When will it stop and why does it keep climbing??

Gas is over $2 a gallon
Bah, old news. Our 87 has been over 2 bucks for weeks. Today, I saw prices ranging from $2.06-$2.19 for the cheap stuff.
I have no doubt we see at least $2.75 by the end of summer.

Not here yet - still only paying 1.97 for premium in the race cars. The 87 stuff is about 1.75 or so. I don't pay much attention - we live 25 miles from work so what are we gonna do, walk? And don't say "bike" - it's 25 miles of Interstate 20.

Wow, it's over $2.00 in Georgia? I never thought it would get that high there for some reason. When I would drive to GA to visit relatives and we lived in MD the price went down the closer we got.
It dropped 2 cents here about a week ago, to $2.09 for the cheap stuff. $2.06 in St Helens, Oregon which is about 30 miles north of Portland. I actually believe the news this year, when they say it could get to 3.00 a gallon.

If it gets to $2.00 here/gal....I'm gonna re-jet and start running alky! I can get it for about $1.50/gal...though I'll use more (still makes more power, though!)

Yeah I guess over $2 a gallon is old news in most places, but we were always about .20 below the national average. There is one good thing about it. Premium fuel is staying 20 cents more no matter what the % increase. The higher it goes, the better value you get on the good stuff!

Its not going to get any better..ever. With China consuming more oil than ever, these prices are here to stay. We live in a global economy now, the US is not the only consumer of oil.
The supply of oil will decline, but global demand will not. Today we will burn 76m barrels; by 2020 we will be using 112m barrels a day, after which projected demand accelerates. If supply declines and demand grows, we soon encounter something with which the people of the advanced industrial economies are unfamiliar: shortage. The price of oil will go through the roof.
Its funny, it will be like the 70's again. Suvs and trucks will be out, and small cars will be in. I love musclecars, hotrods etc...but I won't shed a tear to see the SUV go away.
