I literally almost shed a tear when I read the story about the green Plymouth Superbird in the 'Rotter of the Month' section.

Looking at this reminds me of this old mach1 that used to sit out in front of this old crappy looking home . It sat of to the side in the weeds I first noticed it when I was in grade school. The bus I rode went past the house everyday. I seen that car every day for years then when the time came that I had a job I talked my day into taking me over there to see if they would sell it. By this time the weeds had grown around it so much you couldn't hardly see it. But as the case usually is the guy said he was going to fix it up for his kids. Well as the years went by the car stayed there untell one day I went by and seen it was gone along with what was probably 20 years worth of trash that had acumulated around the yard. I don't know for sure but I think the car just ended up getting halled away. People like that piss me off they would rather let it sit and rot away then sell it to someone that might actually do soething with it.

Hey, my '65 Fastback was not in a barn, but it was advertised as a '65 Ford for a month before I called about the car. It was the original owner who was selling it, and she bought it new in 1965. It was completely original, it had 107,000 miles on it. Even the exhaust was original, and I left it on the car. (this is El Paso, nothing rusts here) It was rust and Bondo free. It was the first car that I went to look at when I decided that I wanted an old car!!

The thing that keeps me from drooling too much is that all of those cars are beyond my skills and budget to restore. At least they are still out there for somebody. Think how many cars we think are cool now went to the crusher in better condition than the ones on that page!

Cool - the Super Cat is in here and in the recent issue of Hot Rod. I've seen a bunch I'd go after. I seem to have infinite patience when it comes to cars. Not with much else.
