At last I caught up with the 57 we were talking about.
It does have a 460 in it, it's a 535 hp 460 crate engine.
He was going to put a 600+ 517? in it but would have to wait 3 to 6 months for it so he went with the 535hp instead.
Friday night at the local show all three of the local black custom 57's were there. Mine with a 390, FMX, Steve with the 460, 4 spd toploader and the other fellow with the 428 daul quad, 4 spd toploader. We all parked together and had quite a crowd gather. And me without my camera.

Not to hijack your post! But I've been looking for a '57 project for almost 2 years now. Almost had a '57 meteor from up Midland way but never closed the deal. If you know of any, let me know woudja?

Durn, that would have been a cool pic too! Isn't that how it goes? Carry a camera and don't see anything to take a pic of. That is cool you finally caught up with the dude! I'll keep my eyes and ears open. It took me over 3 years to find the one I have, and I ended up finding it 10 miles from home.
Would you like a Meteor or will a Ford be ok.
Custom or Fairlane? 2 or 4 door?

Meteor or Ford will do, Custom or Fairlane ok, prefer 2 door, but would look at 4 door. Guess I can't be too selective, otherwise I won't ever find anything.
