351 roller engine for sale in MN - transportation issue

I found a deal (it's listed in the classifieds right now) for a 351W roller engine and trans from a 94 e150 that I would love to get but am having trouble arranging transportation. It's a 900 mile trip each way and freight would be more than he is asking.

Any advice from those who have been in the biz longer than me on a cheap freight option for 700 pounds of steel and aluminum? If not, I think the thing is a steal at 400 bucks so go get it if you want and I'll wait for a closer deal.

I'm in the Detroit area BTW so anyone looking to unload a 351 roller block - I'm listening.

Will

Nobody has had a block or tranny shipped?

Are they just not cost effective because of the weight?

Perfect. My previous best quote was $460 just to ship and these guys only want $150. The problem is the seller won't drive 3 hours one-way to get the thing to the terminal in Minneapolis. Won't even take a small fee to make the trip.

Great info though. Thanks Dyno.

Park Rapids. North central part of the state, maybe 100 miles south of the US/Canada border.
