Well car is home...

Told the "friend" I needed it today, paid him $100 to have it done, said he had too many " chopper frames" to get done
Well, needless to say it looks like HELL!!! Almost all primered, door jambs are crappy, primer is seperating from the body... Ok, who wants to tell me how to paint it I have a basic knoledge of painting & will buy a decent HVLP gun as soon as it's ready. Paint it a base coat/clear coat Western crap paint. Any volunteers? I'm so pissed I could just SPIT If someone was close enough & in my price range, I'd be happy to pay them.

I feel your pain my brotha. I went out and started my Galaxie today. First time since November. It's been at the body shop goin on 18ish months. They haven't started on it. The hood was off, tarp over the engine half off, someone has stolen the Ford oval wing nut off the air cleaner, My 220 dollar Stinger battery is gone, the brake pedal won't move, the front tires are froze up, it's sitting on four flats, and I'm out 4500 dollars on this deal. And the worst part is that I can't recoup my money cuz the guys filed bankruptcy protection. So I either load the car up and bring it home, or leave it there and hope that it gets done someday. I was so pissed today I would have brought it home, but I've got a busted up wrist right now and I can't even drive, much less try to load anything without some help. And even if I just bring the car home it'll just have to sit here. I've got no shop to work in and with the lack of work the last couple of years I won't be paying anyone else to do the work to it. You're out $4500 and they hav'nt touched it yet?? How could this be?
Is it a legitimate body shop? or someone who's just another yayhoo?
Theres no way they would skate with any money until its done!

It's a legit shop alright. And the guy was one of my better friends till he started having problems. His divorce & the fact that they did a bunch of highway work that made his place inaccessable for a long time almost put him out of business and even now I think he's barely scraping by trying to recover. The whole paint bodywork deal was a trade - trade. I was supposed to get my paint & bodywork done and he needed some office computers, monitors, network, router, website, ect ect ect. Needless to say he got all his stuff, and yet I haven't got a thing in return yet. At the time I could afford to trade/pay and wasn't too concerned with getting in a hurry on my car. Unfortunately my work & health situation has changed in the last year or two and I'm wishing I'd never got in on this deal.
