New GT500 style hood is on my \'65 FB...what do ya think?

You're making me wish I went with a scoop on my car... I opted for cowl induction instead.

Wish I could post pictures... check out pictures at another forum I belong to:

Who does your paint? I live in OC and could get wherever it is.

Are you taking it to Fun Ford Weekend?

I have used 4 paint shops during this resto. I was a victim of 3 of them. The first shop painted the car with it disassembled. Good job except for they painted it with single stage rather than 2 stage like I specified and like I paid for. Sued them and recovered 2/3 of my money. The second shop painted my first hood and did a terrible job. The third shop had my new hood for 10 days and didn't touch it...an insurance shop. The 4th shop did the new hood and what a nice job and reasonable price. They are Precision Colision in Orange on Batavia...highly recommended. Somday when this single stage paint starts to look ratty, i'm going to them for a 2 stage job.

Don't know the name of any of them but there is a whole nest of body shops and stuff near pixley & chapman area. All kinds of old cars in different stages of paint or restoration. That's where my car was for a week at the 'baby sitters'.

Couldn't believe the cars in that whole area actually. They were everywhere!

I wouldn't count on the paint looking ratty any time sone, if they used urathane single stage. Some of the cars I painted 10 years ago still look great today. I would always try to talk people out of clearing solid color cars especialy red and black. I was painting trucks for Peterbilt when Imron first came out with BC/CC and the Dupont reps said that dark soild colors do better without clear. All in all I think you have a Great car. I am curious about calling the scoop a GT500 scoop, I have worked on several 67 Shelbys both 350s & 500s and they all had the same scoop.

I got my hood, and you can get GT350 or 500 hoods from Mustangs Plus in California.

I like emberglow too. I absolutely thought I was going to puke when I first saw it... the white stripes help out a lot. The car doesn't quite look that good anymore. I moved out and don't have a garage so all that good stuff is in the back seat. The car also leaks a little and 3 hurricanes is enough for me to need at the very least a new carpet. And the engine is dirtier than hell thanks to the last shop I took it to to get some work done on it.
