i hate my job!!!!!!!

hey i hate my job, i work at Krogers which is a grocery store. i sack good. Im sick right now and they got all mad at me, and my mangers are all butts, i have been working there for 2 months and i have asked for more hours but they dont give me any, i only get 10-12 hours a week @ $5.25 a hour, and the union took out $8 each week, and plus taxes, so by the time i do get any money its about $40. my cuzin works at pizza hut and he get paid $5.15 a hour and get 30 hours of work each week, plus tips to deliver. i would love to have that much. i have to put gas in my galaxie each week and i cant even fill it up, i ussaly use my lunch money for gas and stuff, but my mom used to work there and she hated it, she quit and im just wonder if i should quit. im gonna try to find a job at a oil change station or something like that b/c i can do that well. i think this is [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_bs.gif[/img]

Hang in there, after 2-3 years you'll be on a cash register making 15+ an hour. That'll teach the pizza tossin cuzin. Just gotta hang in there. Its all about hangin in there.

Are you giving them crap about what days/hours you want to work, or are you just saying "give me as much as you can"?

I used to work for Fred Myers (now owned by Kroger) when i was in highschool and during the summer time i asked for all the hours i could get and they would throw 39 hours at me (most they could do leagaly because i was under 16 at the time) and i loved it. Made bank. But come school time- i told them i would only work weekends- no weeksday evenings- they didn't like that- so they cut me back to like 12-16 hours... I didn't like it- but i didn't want to work during the week either so i couldn't complain much.

That is the draw. You either ask for as much as possible and work a lot- or if you want to be picky- just be glad for what they give you.

If you only want to work a few specific days & hours, not too many places are going to want you around. More hassle than its worth- plenty of other people willing to work what the store demands.

If you are willing to really WORK for them- meaning the hours and days they want- and not just a handful of hours here and there- most places will gladly give you all the hours you can take.

They use reduced hours to get you to quit. Age old trick that keeps the union outta their hair. Find something else, then quit.[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif[/img]

I'm with FX, find something else first and then quit. With those few hours it will give you lots of time to find a new job. Hate those places that give only a few hours to avoid having to give someone bennies or whatever reason they have. I used to work and 3 and 4 dif stores of the same company just to get 38 hrs a week. If I got 40 they would have to give me benefits of full time.

My fiance is in the same position, she'd get 10 hours a week for 2-3 weeks, then pick up one week, then drop off the next. The only time she gets over 15 is when its busy in the holidays and thats it! She is lookin for another job too.

I walked away from all that "Corporate America" $hit about eight years ago and now control my life 100% ...

I can tell anyone on the planet to KISS My A$$ at any given moment and I won't have to worry about my JOB (not that I've ever felt a need to do that, but the notion that you could does wonders for your existence)

I gotta agree. I'm trying to get into my own business &amp; it's the way to go. Personally, find another job &amp; tell them to take a hike

Dont know what your area is like but when i had just turned 16 I had went to our local Ford dealership and was able to get a job cleaning cars. I think i made 5.50/hr and had the oppertunity of doing undercoatings which paid 10.00 a car. I would work about 25 to 30 hrs a week and got to drive all the new fords. For a kid in school I loved it. This was 13 yrs ago.
