They said the cars will be destroyed that were confiscated. Do you think they will really destroy them or will the be put up for auction at a later date? Going to be some POed parents who might be still paying on those cars also.

bummer 2 mustangs crushed. after the incident in latuna canyon I wont be surprised if they do crush them. Sounds like a good reason to open another drag strip instead of closing them down. mabye we should call the GOVENATOR in on this one Chris

Well I guess that will get the kids attention but it seems pretty extreme.

Yeah wasn't that a sad site after hearing that? My favorite style too! They have "Save The Whales", why not "Save The Mustang", the automobile version? Some kids are going to be in deeeeeep do with mom and pops if they are the ones footing the bill for those nice rides.
I think they should part them out instead.

Being the cynic that I am...I doubt if what is finally crushed is the same car, with all the same parts as the one they confiscated.

On the other side, I would rather see them crushed than sold at auction, usually to a cop or his friend, at "give-away" prices. Why do I also believe they don't confiscate 4-door Chevettes that two teens with nothing else to do, use to race each other to the Wal-Mart?

Things that make you go HuuummmH?

Maybe, just maybe that's a reason these guys make a run for it, instead of pulling over? If you know they are going to take your car and crush it...takes away a lot of the incentive to pull over, get your ticket instead of making a run for it and risk wrecking it.

As it stands, its a 50-50 chance you wreck it by running...but a 100% certainty that it will be crushed if they pull you over.

I know a fellow who got his 51 chev pick up, 500 cid caddy built to the hilt, confiscated for a 3rd or 4th dwi. He tried to buy it back, but the guy at the sherrifs dept told him it was'nt possible and that alot of people were going to bid on it. He lost the truck. He should have used better judgement, but that really sucks.

I know in El dorado county the garbage cars that get confiscated usually end up in the crusher since the criminal/victim won't pay the fees to get it back.
